Responsible investment policy

We strongly believe that profitability and sustainability are not mutually exclusive. To be profitable, companies must be sustainable. As a result of this belief, Tikehau Capital considers the inclusion of economic, social and governance (ESG) criteria as an integral part of its investment process. Our ESG policy rests on four main pillars:

Exclusion: exclusion of certain risky sectors, behaviours or jurisdictions to protect value
ESG Inclusion: incorporation of ESG factors in financial analysis to increase value
Commitment: working with management and/or governance bodies to identify value-creating ESG measures
Sustainability-themed and impact investing: responding to societal challenges while generating competitive financial returns for investors.

Rather than consider the ESG criteria as a constraint, we believe it is a common-sense approach to investing. All of Tikehau Capital’s investment teams have both financial and extra-financial responsibilities, and ESG is placed at the heart of our investment decisions. Titled ‘ESG by Design’, our ESG approach applies to all of our investments made via our asset management and investment activities. In addition to the ESG criteria, our responsible investment strategy is embedded in all of the company’s activities.
