Tikehau Capital provides financing solutions across the capital structure. We act as a long term funding partner with an entrepreneurial mindset. We work with entrepreneurs, founding families and the management to set up adapted financing solutions that align interests and enable the business to achieve its strategic goals.

(As at 31.12.2020)

As a funding partner of companies of all sizes, Tikehau Capital draws on its entrepreneurial spirit to forge a deep and immediate understanding of the companies’ needs.

Private Debt: we provide financing to medium sized companies and support entrepreneurs in their growth projects and their development.

  • More specifically, we support companies within certain sectors, which, although they represent a key segment of the French economy, find access to funding challenging.
    Through Sofiprotéol Dette Privée (SDP), a fund launched in collaboration with Groupe Avril, the French agribusiness leader in the oils & proteins sector, we finance the development of 13 companies in the sector including:
    • De Sangosse, the crop protection and nutrition specialist. SDP has invested 7.5 M€ in a bond issue launched to finance the company’s international development;
    • Maîtres laitiers du Cotentin, a dairy cooperative, raised 10 M€ in debt to finance an infant milk production unit targeting the Chinese market, which enabled the cooperative to weather the recent milk crisis;
    • Hypred, an innovative biosecurity solutions company, launched an LMBO funded partially by SDP, which has enabled the take-off of a business line considered marginal by its original shareholder;
    • Ponroy Santé, the food additives leader, succeeded an LMBO with the help of SDP, as there was no successor to the founder, and has expanded into the Chinese market thanks to a specialist investment fund.
  • We also manage several funds granting loans to or issuing bonds for SMEs, allowing them to accelerate or secure their development.
    The NOVO II (2013) and NOVI I (2015) funds, launched under the auspices of the CDC and the FRR, have supported the development of an alternative funding solution. NOVI I benefits from heightened flexibility as it can invest in both debt and capital instruments, in order to offer a full range of funding solutions to companies.
    Some examples:
    • DCG (Dietrich Carebus Group), one of the leaders in coach sales and after-sales services in France, benefitted from a 10 M€ convertible bond subscription by NOVI I and a senior loan of 5 M€ in order to pursue its development in green transports;
    • Clinique Development, a health clinic manager in Normandy, received support totalling 5 M€ from NOVI I in capital and a convertible bond issue, which enabled the group to take over the long-stay hospital leader Le Normandy;
    • Lebronze Alloys, specializing in metal alloys and super-alloys in the Marne region of France, contracted loans totalling 22 M€ with NOVO II and NOVI I to support international development and its innovation programme.

Private Equity: we provide a stable capital base for private companies harboring strong growth potential.

Tikehau Capital aims to support the development of companies. Here are some examples:

  • DRT, a resin specialist located in the Southwest of France, called on Tikehau Capital which provided 40 M€ of equity capital in order to finance a game-changing acquisition in the US enabling the group to export its know-how internationally;
  • Asten Santé, one of the French leaders in home healthcare services founded in 2013 by associations supporting chronically-ill patients, was able to expand its business particularly in the field teleconsultations, thanks to investments by Tikehau Capital in 2014 and 2016, before becoming part of the La Poste group and its home-services business.
  • Neoness, a leader in fitness in France, chose to partner with Tikehau Capital in December 2015 in order to sustain its strong growth and launch a new high-end brand, Episod. Thanks to the success of its approach, the Neoness Group opened ten new gyms in 2016 and now has 25.

Real-Estate: we enable companies to free-up resources by reducing fixed-asset items on their balance sheet which are costly in terms of capital.

Our real-estate investments include various types of assets, including several sale-and-lease-back deals.

  • A fund managed by Tikehau Capital acquired two real-estate portfolios from EDF, for a total of close to 500 M€, which have been leased back to the group, enabling it to reduce its debt and finance its renewable energies investment programme, while maintaining and renovating its existing sites, particularly its nuclear power plants.
  • Elis, the leader in rental and maintenance services for linens and professional garments, was able to free-up significant resources in order to finance its international development through the sale of 22 assets for a total value of around 100 M€ to a fund managed by Tikehau Capital.
